Mindful Moments
Psychotherapy with Lillyana

What if you took a moment to tune in?
This page is dedicated to resources for your own self-development work. This is not a replacement for therapy, but rather additional resourcing.
Connecting to the Moment
Mindfulness is the practice of purposely focusing your attention on the present moment—and accepting it without judgment. Mindfulness is now being examined scientifically and has been found to be a key element in stress reduction and overall happiness.
Connecting to the Breath
When you become stressed or anxious, your brain releases cortisol, the “stress hormone.” By taking deep breaths, your heart rate slows, more oxygen enters our blood stream and ultimately communicates with the brain to relax. Deep breathing also ups your endorphins, the “feel good” chemical.
Connecting to the Somatics
Both aerobic and mindful movement, like yoga, help to activate and replenish GABA, a neurotransmitter that plays a crucial role in the body's response to stress. Regular exercise both decreases and prevents depression—helping the body and brain to relax and de-stress
